Fall Lecture Series on “The Joy of the Gospel”

Join us for the first of a three-part series on Pope Francis' Apostolic Exhortation, "The Joy of the Gospel." At 7pm on Tuesday, October 21, Rev. Drew Christiansen, S.J. will speak to us on global vision of the exhortation, and cultural diversity as the road to peace. View the flier.

Fr. Drew  Christiansen, S.J. of the Jesuits was editor-in-chief of America a distinguished Catholic magazine and has begun his current mission as the Distinguished Professor of Ethics, and Huan Development at Georgetown University. From 1991-1998 he headed the USCCB Office of International Justice and Peace and drafted the 1993 bishop’s statement: “The Harvest of Justice is Down in Peace.” In 1998 at the request of the Vatican, Fr. Christiansen organized a coordination to support the Church in the Holy Land.

He is co-author of “Forgiveness in Politics: An Alternate Road to Peace” (USCCB) and co-editor of Faithful Witness: On Peace and Reconciliation in the Holy Land.”
