"Confession: A Roman Catholic App" was the subject of a recent FOX 5 interview with St. Matthew's Parochial Vicar, Fr. Kevin Regan. The app, which sells for $1.99 on iTunes, "is designed to guide Catholics to confession by allowing users to check whether their behavior conforms with the church," according to FOX 5. Fr. Regan describes the app, which he has downloaded, as loading a custom examination of conscience based on user inputs (gender, age and vocation). The Indiana-based development company called Little iApps reportedly has said that the app was designed to be used in the confessional and not as a replacement for confession with a priest. Fr. Regan highlights this point, observing that the personal encounter in the confessional is always needed.
