Br. Augustine Marie Reisenauer, O.P. will be ordained to the priesthood on Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Church of St. Dominic in Washington, DC. He has appreciated serving the parishioners of the Cathedral of St. Matthew for the past two years, teaching parents and children of the English Religious Education Program, journeying with engaged couples in their preparations for marriage, serving weekly and preaching monthly at Sunday Masses (rotating among the 5:30 p.m. Vigil, 8:30 a.m., and 5:30 p.m. Masses), celebrating baptisms of infants, and contributing to lecture series and bible studies. After completing his B.S. (2003) and M.T.S. (2006) degrees at the University of Notre Dame, Br. Augustine entered the Order of Preachers (Dominicans), made solemn profession on November 13, 2010, and was ordained a deacon on January 8, 2011. Br. Augustine will celebrate his First Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Matthew’s Cathedral at 5:30pm on Saturday, May 26, 2012 (the Vigil of the Solemnity of Pentecost), and also the 8:30am Mass at the Cathedral on Sunday, May 27, 2012. All are most welcome to his ordination at St. Dominic’s Church and to the Masses at St. Matthew’s Cathedral.
Come and hear Br. Augustine and Br. Albert as they share the fruits of their seminarian studies with St. Matthew’s parishioners this Lenten season in a lecture series, “ Portraits of Discipleship in Scripture.”
