U. S. House Votes Tuesday on Late-Term Abortion Ban

On Tuesday, June 18, 2013 the U.S. House of Representatives will vote on a bill to protect unborn children nationwide during the last four months of pregnancy. The bill is the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (H.R. 1797).

Young Adults Volunteer Opportunity

Join the Cathedral Young Adults on Saturday, June 22 from 2:15 to 4pm  to serve lunch and visit the elderly at the Little Sisters of the Poor's Jeanne Jugan Residence (4200 Harewood Road NE / Brookland-CUA). Ordinations to the Diaconate

Two parishioners are among the men being ordained to the Diaconate this ordination seaon—Ken Gill, who was ordained to the Transitional Diaconate on June 1 and James Garcia, who will be ordained to the Permanent Diaconate on June 22. Read more about them, as well as our Dominican seminarian, Br. Your Talent for God's Purpose

Once again, St. Matthew’s will offer a six-part course on finding meaningful work and carrying out a successful job search. The classes will be held on Monday evenings beginning May 13. Priestly Ordination of Albert Duggan

Br. Albert Duggan, O.P. and five of his fellow Dominicans were ordained to the Priesthood of Jesus Christ on Friday, May 24 at the Church of St. Dominic in Washington, DC. Father Albert celebrates his First Mass of Thanksgiving at the Cathedral at 8:30am on Sunday, May 26, the Solemnity of The Most Holy Trinity.

Schola Cantorum Summer Hiatus

Sunday, June 2, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, is the last Sunday of the season for the Schola Cantorum.
