The D.C. Catholic Conference is working with No DC Suicide, a coalition including disability advocates, medical professionals, suicide prevention advocates, and other allies to oppose legislation recently introduced in the D.C. City Council (B21-38) that would legalize physician-assisted suicide in the District of Columbia. View the flyer on this effort.
The Committee on Health and Human Services is scheduled to hold a public hearing on the proposed legislation on July 10. If you know specific physicians, hospice or palliative care experts, or other individuals who may be helpful in opposing the legislation, please ask them to contact Michael Scott, Director of the DC Catholic Conference at firstname.lastname@example.org or 202-683-1721.
