Physician-assisted Suicide Legislation in MD

The Maryland General Assembly just introduced the “End of Life Option Act” (House Bill 404/Senate Bill 418) to be considered in the 2016 legislative session. If passed, this bill would allow doctors to legally prescribe a lethal medication at the request of a patient who has been diagnosed as terminally ill.

The bill was introduced on January 29, 2016, and the first committee hearings have already been scheduled for February 19 and February 25. Maryland residents who wish to contact their legislators in opposition to this bill can visit www.StopAssistedSuicideMD.org. Click “Take Action,” then “Contact Your Legislator.”
