"Adult Catholics must be mature in faith and well equipped to share the Gospel, promoting it in every family circle, in every church gathering, in every place of work, and in every public forum. They must be men and women of prayer whose faith is alive and vital, grounded in a deep commitment of the person and message of Jesus."

–From "Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us: A Pastoral Plan for Adult Faith Formation in the United States"
U.S. Catholic Bishops, 1999

In 1999, the bishops issued an impassioned call to pastors, parish staffs, and all Catholics to renew their commitment to adult formation in the faith. At St. Matthew’s, we have long taken seriously the need to help adults grow in their knowledge of the faith and in their desire and ability to more closely follow the Lord Jesus and bring the good news to all nations.

Faith Perspectives is one part of our adult formation efforts. Each issue in this occasional series focuses on an issue of importance in the faith. Often, it will highlight a recent document from the Vatican or the U.S. bishops. Check back here often for new Perspectives.
