It is with great sadness that we received news of the passing of longtime staff member and parishioner, Gloria Harrington, beloved friend to many in our St. Matthew's community. Please pray for the repose of her soul. May she rest in peace.

9am Viewing, 10am Mass

The funeral Mass for Gloria will be celebrated at the Cathedral on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 10am. Msgr. W. Ronald Jameson, Cathedral Rector, will be the celebrant and homilist. Viewing in the Cathedral will take place at 9am. All are welcome to attend the viewing and Mass of Christian Burial for our dear friend and faithful servant of the Lord.

Our own Deacon Bob Vince shares a beautiful prayer that unites our deep sadness and sense of loss at the passing of Gloria Harrington with the truths of our faith.

"The accidents of life separate us from our dearest friends, but let us not despair. God is like a looking glass in which souls see each other. The more we are united to Him by love, the nearer we are to those who belong to Him."

We pray for the repose of the souls of our dearly departed and lift up in prayer those who grieve for them.

Blessed are those who have died in the Lord; let them rest from their labors for their good deeds go with them.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord.

And let perpetual light shine upon her.
Amen.

May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.

May the peace of God, which is beyond all understanding, keep our hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God and of his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
