Ukrainian Archbishop Gudziak to Concelebrate Ash Wednesday Mass

March 1, 2022

We welcome Archbishop Borys Gudziak, Metropolitan Archbishop of Philadelphia of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, who will concelebrate the 12:10pm Ash Wednesday (March 2) Mass at the Cathedral, to be celebrated by Cardinal Wilton Gregory, Archbishop of Washington. The Mass will include two Ukrainian hymns sung by St. Matthew's Schola Cantorum. Join us in the Cathedral or via the livestream on the Archdiocese of Washington YouTube channel.

Pope Francis invites all to make Ash Wednesday a Day of Fasting for Peace. "I encourage believers in a special way to dedicate themselves intensely to prayer and fasting on that day. May the Queen of Peace preserve the world from the madness of war."
