In their statement on Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship, the U.S. Catholic bishops apply Catholic teaching to many important issues affecting human life and dignity. One issue is "affordable and accessible health care" for all, which is "an essential safeguard or human life and a fundamental human right."
