Cathedral Young Adults

The Cathedral Young Adult ministry (C†YA) serves the community of Catholic adults ages 21 - 39 who live and work in DC, supporting them in the continued growth of their faith, discernment of their vocations, and development as stewards of the Church through opportunities for socializing, community service and spiritual reflection. Throughout the year, we offer regular spiritual, social, and service opportunities to nurture our young adult community and enrich the life of the entire parish.

Cathedral Young Adults (C†YA) is all about building what the Catholic Church calls “a culture of encounter.” In a world where gatherings of religiously minded young people don’t always feel like the right place to ask the hard questions, we offer something different: a space for Catholics in their 20s and 30s—and their friends of other faiths—to speak honestly, think deeply, and grow together in faith.

Through Sunday socials, theology talks, happy hours, book clubs, and other regular events, we create room for real conversation and authentic connection. This is a community where thoughtful dialogue and spiritual growth go hand in hand—where speaking your mind and taking religion seriously are not seen as opposites, but as part of the same journey.

We aim to be an incubator of good ideas and lasting friendships, a place where curiosity, community, and faith meet. Whether you’re a longtime parishioner, a visiting friend, or—best of all—a stranger: welcome. We’re glad you’re here.

Sunday Night with C†YA

Join C†YA on Sunday nights at 6:30pm, following the 5:30pm Mass, in the North Conference Room (exit church through the door by the organ, go down the staircase, continue straight, last door on your left). Meet other Catholics, talk about the faith, and build friendships!

Happy Hour

Join us for Happy Hour every other Tuesday! Happy Hour starts at 6:30pm. Join us on our WhatsApp Group for the latest information. Grab a drink and get to know the group!

C†YA Book Club

The C†YA Book Club meets once a month. We pick a book related to Catholicism—from fiction with Catholic themes to a history of the early church—read independently, and then meet up to discuss the book. Future book suggestions welcome.
