"Thirsting for Living Water "- Lenten Day of Recollection · 9:00am - 1:00pm

Join us on Saturday, February 25 at 9am for our annual Lenten Day of Recollection with Sister Patricia A. Parachini, SNJM, DMin. Sr. Prachini will lead us in prayer and reflection on John 4:5-42, the Woman at the Well, and on our own thirsts, longings and desires that we Christians believe, in faith, can only be satisfied by Jesus, the One who gives us eternal life.

The Georgetown University Chapel Choir returns for its annual visit to the Cathedral under the direction of James Wickman, providing music at the 5:30pm Vigil Mass.

Evening Lenten Confessions · 6:30pm - 8:00pm

St. Matthew’s offers Confessions on Wednesday evenings of Lent from 6:30 to 8pm in English and Spanish. Wednesday evening Confessions will be in addition to our regularly scheduled Confessions (weekdays, 11am-Noon, and Saturdays, 4-5pm). Come and experience forgiveness and reconciliation with the Father through the Son!

Breaking Open the Word · 7:00pm

Breaking Open The Word is an informal discussion on the readings for the upcoming Sunday. No expertise is needed. BOW meets in the West Conference Room accessible fromSt. Matthews Courton the west side of the Cathedral. The discussion begins at 7:00 PM and runs for about an hour, finishing at 8:00 PM.

First Friday Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is held following the 12:10pm Mass until 5pm in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, located to the left of the sanctuary. All are welcome to come in and spend some time in adoration of Our Lord. “In a world where there is so much noise, so much bewilderment, there is a need for silent adoration of Jesus concealed in the Host. . . .
