The Schola Cantorum of St Matthew’s Cathedral will present the Office of Vespers for Laetare Sunday, the Fourth Sunday of Lent, March 30 at 4:00pm The Office will be sung entirely in Latin, in Gregorian chant and polyphony. View the flyer.
The Schola Cantorum leads the cathedral community and friends in the ancient, time-honored Liturgy of Tenebræ, including the singing of the Lamentations of Jeremiah and a new setting of Velum Templi. Come to experience this unique and rarely celebrated ancient rite.

At 1pm, Cardinal Donald Wuerl celebrates the Liturgy of the Lord's Passion, with music by the Schola. At 4pm, the Liturgia de la Pasión de N.S. Jesucristo, Adoración de la Santa Cruz, Y Santa Comunión is celebrated by Rev. Rafael Barbieri.
On Saturday, May 3 at 7:30pm, the The Catholic University of America Chamber Choir & University Singers will present in St. Matthew's Cathedral a concert on the occasion of the canonization of Blessed John Paul XXIII and Blessed John Paul II, with Leo Nestor, conductor and Joy-Leilani Garbutt and Sook Hyun Kim, organ.
