Volunteering at Capital Area Food Bank

Volunteers are needed to serve at the Capital Area Food Bank on Saturday, November 15 from 9am until Noon. Work at the food bank typically involves packing and/or sorting donated food. It also can include packing for CAFB programs, and assisting with various other tasks at the food bank. Tasks will involve standing up for up to three hours and lifting up to 35 pounds.

The mission of the Capital Area Food Bank (www.capitalareafoodbank.org) is to feed those who suffer from hunger in the Washington metro area by acquiring food and distributing it through its network of partner agencies; and educating, empowering and enlightening the community about the issues of hunger and nutrition. Their facilities are in Brookland (Northeast DC) and are accessible via a shuttle from the Brookland-CUA Metro station.
