Below is a general description of Faith Formation events and programs available at St. Matthew's.
Bible Lecture Series
In recent years, St. Matthew's has offered a lecture series on a particular book or books of the Bible in order to deepen understanding of God's Word and its meaning in our lives.
Breaking Open the Word, a weekly discussion on the Sunday readings, meets on Wednesdays at 7pm in the West Conference Room.
Interested parishioners meet periodically throughout the year to discuss books of interest, whether classics or contemporary, in light of our faith..
Faith Sharing Groups
Throughout the year, parishioners are invited to join a small, peer-led faith-sharing group for conversation, prayer, and reflection.
Mornings of Recollection
Each Advent and Lent, parishioners gather for a morning of prayer and reflection on a specific theme. The morning typically includes presentations by a guest speaker, time for private reflection, opportunities to mingle, and celebration of the Eucharist.
Guest speakers present lectures on a given theme or topic as part of the annual Fall and Lenten Lecture Series. Other special lectures are scheduled throughout the year.
