Tuesday, 7-8:30pm, in the East Conference Room.
Introduction, Trinity and Kenosis, the Biblical Witness
The Catholic understanding of God as Trinity has profound implications for how we live. The doctrine of the Trinity is how Catholics describe the incomprehensible mystery of God as well as the way God gives away the divine life to the world. God is not what we think God is - neither a punishing judge, nor doting old man in the sky, nor two men and a bird! This understanding makes God unconnected to our lives. Using Scripture, theology, and the spiritualities of the mystics, we will consider what God as Trinity means and, especially, what Trinity means for an authentic, holy, and transformed Catholic life.
All are welcome to attend this class!
