Noon Reflection on the Seven Last Words of Christ
1pm Liturgy of the Lord's Passion

Sr. Cynthia Serjak, RSM delivers a Reflection on the Lord's Passion at Noon on Good Friday, April 2, joined by members of St. Matthew's Schola Cantorum, in a Covid adaptation of our traditional commemoration of the Lord’s Passion. Following the Reflection, at 1pm Cardinal Wilton Gregory, Archbishop of Washington, celebrates the Liturgy of the Passion of the Lord. Join us in the Cathedral for the Noon Reflection and the 1pm Liturgy, or participate via the Archdiocese of Washington livestream.

The Cathedral opens at 11:15am on Good Friday (no reservations; 150-person maximum capacity). There is no Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament or 12:10pm Mass today.

About Sr. Cynthia Serjak, RSM

Sr. Cynthia Serjak ministers in the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas New Membership Office and also with Mercy Staff Development. She has previously addressed the Cathedral parish at our annual Liturgy Ministry Retreat in October. A long-time pastoral musician, Sr. Cynthia is an organist and composer, and frequently speaks and writes about music, liturgy and spirituality.
