Summer in the City Food Drive

St. Mathew’s Cathedral is pleased to be part of the 9th Annual Summer in the City Campaign to support the John S. Mulholland Family Foundation. JSM conducts the only DC summer food drive, a time when food insecurity in Washington is at it’s peak. JSM operates food pantries at the parishes of St. Thomas More, St. Francis Xavier, St. Luke, St. Vincent de Paul and Holy Name.

Your donations of non-perishable food items will be gratefully accepted at all Masses on August 27/28, until the Sunday 5pm pick-up time. Please limit your donations to the following food items and please no glass containers.

  • Canned Tuna or Chicken
  • Dry Cereal (Cheerios, Bran Flakes)
  • Canned Vegetables (Green Beans, Peas, Corn)
  • Soup (Hearty Varieties are best)
  • Canned Fruit, any kind
  • Peanut Butter and Jelly (plastic containers)
  • Baked Beans (cans) & Rice (any size)
  • Pasta and Pasta Sauce (plastic containers)

You also may make a monetary donation to be used to purchase perishable items such as fresh produce, milk and eggs, meat and poultry. Donation checks may be sent directly to Mulholland Foundation, 1629 K Street, NW, Suite 300, Washington, DC 20006. you may also donate online at JSMFF.org.
