Rev. Agustín López

Fr. Agustín López a native of Quito, Ecuador, was ordained to the priesthood in June 2011 by Cardinal Donald Wuerl for the Archdiocese of Washington. He served as Parochial Vicar at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Rockville, MD for three years, and in 2014 was assigned to serve at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Waldorf, MD, with a special ministry to the Hispanic community at St. Peter’s, also in Waldorf, MD. 

Fr. Agustín earned his theology degree at The Catholic University of America and completed his priestly formation at the Archdiocesan Redemptoris Mater Missionary Seminary in Washington, DC.  Before entering the seminary, he earned a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering at the San Francisco University of Ecuador, and worked for several national and international companies, including Citibank in Ecuador. During his time at the seminary, he served as a missionary in Colorado, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. 

Fr. Agustín comes from a large Catholic family and has five siblings (four sisters and an older brother). All of his siblings are married, and he has 16 nieces and nephews!
