Join us on Tuesday, March 2 at 7pm in the Cathedral or via the livestream for a Lenten Prayer Service, "Out of the Depths We Cry to You, O Lord: From Lament through Faith to Hope," with special guest Msgr. Ray East presiding and preaching.

We have entered a Lenten season like no other in recent times. With so much sorrow, uncertainty, fear and injustice in our world today, our faith compels us to call out in the words of the psalmist: “Out of the depths we cry to you, O Lord.” And yet we also know in the depths of our being that “With the Lord there is mercy and fullness of redemption.”

Join us as we proclaim and sing prayers of lament, but also ones of faith and hope. This Taizé-influenced service with themes from Pope Francis’ writings is jointly sponsored by National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPMDC)  and the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle. The service will be led by cantors, readers, a vocal quartet, strings, guitar, piano and organ accompaniment with Msgr. Ray East presiding and preaching.

Donations for the Social Justice ministries of the Cathedral will be welcomed. Masks and social distancing will be observed for in-person participation.

All are also welcome to attend virtually via YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZB7NcL63y0
